                                                            For the Patriot

                                                       Acknowledgement

Messrs. Editors:—Allow me to acknowledge through the medium of your paper the receipt of 2 doz. Pairs Drawers, 2 doz. Shirts, and 7 pairs Socks, given by the Ladies’ Aid Society of this place, to Capt. J. A. Hooper’s company, formerly commanded by Maj. C. C. Cole.  Though every body else seems to have forgotten that such a company ever existed, we are very happy, indeed, to find that we are so kindly remembered by this noble society.
